In 1916, O’Brien Islamia High School was established in Shahpur Sadar. It was redesignated as De’Montmorency College in 1929. The college was relocated to Sargodha in 1946. Its appellation was modified in 1963 to read Government College Sargodha. Postgraduate courses commenced their offerings in 1987.
